The blaze was discovered by a passerby who alerted authorities. The Hagerstown Fire Department responded to the scene with six firefighters and brought the fire under control within ten minutes. The fire originated in the front of the engine compartment of the Jetta. The estimated loss due to the fire is approximately $20,000 for the vehicle and $200 for its contents. No injuries or deaths were reported as a result of the incident, and no occupants were displaced from their homes. The owners of the vehicle are listed as Christopher and Zachary Bender.
