The Frederick Police Department has apprehended a Hagerstown man in connection with a stabbing incident that took place in downtown Frederick in November of last year. The victim, who sustained injuries and transported themselves to a local hospital, was conscious and cooperative with authorities during the subsequent investigation.
Following a thorough investigation, Frederick detectives identified Kyle Alonzo Eccleston, a 32-year-old resident of Hagerstown, Maryland, as the suspect. The investigation involved gathering witness accounts, collecting physical evidence, and meticulously reviewing surveillance footage from the downtown area. These efforts culminated in the issuance of an arrest warrant for Eccleston.
On March 17, 2026, law enforcement officers successfully served the arrest warrant. Eccleston now faces multiple charges, including First-Degree Assault, Second-Degree Assault, and Reckless Endangerment. The Frederick Police Department emphasized the diligence of its personnel, noting the close collaboration between detectives and patrol officers, as well as the assistance of community partners, in resolving the case and holding the suspect accountable. The department reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of downtown Frederick and urged the public to report any information regarding criminal activities.
