The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of approximately 196,800 DuraTrac stainless steel gas connectors due to a potential fire hazard. According to the CPSC, a manufacturing defect in these connectors could lead to gas leaks, posing a risk of fire to consumers. The recalled products were sold between May 2025 and November 2025 at various retail locations.

The affected DuraTrac stainless steel gas connectors are identifiable by a yellow product label that states “DuraTrac” and “Made in Thailand.” Additionally, the flare nuts on these connectors are engraved with the CSA file number “259973” and one of the following manufacturing date codes: 24D, 25A, 25B, or 25C. These connectors were sold at Ace Hardware, Blake’s Inc., and Merritt’s Hardware stores for approximately $20 each. DuraTrac, based in Anaheim, California, is the importer of these products.
Consumers who have purchased these recalled gas connectors are strongly advised to immediately stop using them. To address the hazard, DuraTrac is offering a full refund to affected customers. Those who wish to receive their refund should contact DuraTrac directly. The company can be reached toll-free at 866-678-8214 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. Alternatively, consumers can send an email to customerservice@duratracinc.com or visit the company’s website at http://www.duratracinc.com and navigate to the “Product Recalls” section for more information and instructions on how to proceed with the refund process. Thus far, no incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
