A special reception celebrating the featured student artists and their families is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This event will coincide with the “Cultural Connections: Month of the Young Child” program and will include light refreshments. The Academy of Fine Arts program offers Frederick County high school students in grades 10 through 12 an opportunity to engage in advanced coursework across various artistic disciplines, including music, theater, dance, musical theater, and visual arts. The rigorous curriculum is designed to prepare students for higher education, community-focused artistic endeavors, and the development of a lifelong artistic curiosity.

The “Art in City Hall” program, responsible for organizing “Transmutational Resonance,” serves as a platform for showcasing local artists throughout the year. This initiative fosters partnerships with a diverse range of local organizations, including arts and cultural groups, non-profits, educational institutions, and community associations. The program is currently reviewing submissions for its 2026 season, with a particular focus on themes related to Frederick’s collective future. The “Art in City Hall” program does not accept proposals for individual artist exhibitions. Interested parties can find more information and submission guidelines on the City of Frederick’s official website.
