The agreement, valued at $350,596.30, specifically covers the concrete foundation for the burn building. This structure is designed to simulate real-world fire scenarios, providing essential hands-on training opportunities for fire and emergency services personnel. The foundation will support a steel-frame fire training tower and burn building, which is slated for delivery this fall. The new foundation is a key component of the tactical village being constructed at 18350 Public Safety Place, which aims to replicate diverse operational conditions for law enforcement and emergency responders.
The project has a stipulated completion timeline of 60 consecutive calendar days, with construction expected to commence in late September. Future phases of the Public Safety Training Center will include additional site work, such as the paving of an apparatus operator and defensive driving area, which will be put out for bid later in the year. Funding for the foundation project is allocated from the county’s Capital Improvement Plan, specifically from the budget designated for the Burn Building within the Public Safety Training Center.
