The issue stems from the potential for the flexible hose to fail, ejecting grease under pressure. Makita U.S.A., Inc. has received five reports of this hose failure globally. These incidents resulted in five reported laceration injuries, all of which occurred outside of the United States. Consumers are advised to immediately cease using the recalled grease guns and hoses.
To address the hazard, Makita is offering a free replacement hose to all affected customers.
