The identified hazard stems from the product’s attached hose, which can become excessively hot during operation. Additionally, the nozzle or gun component may expel hot water, even after the trigger has been disengaged. These issues pose a significant burn hazard to users, with reports indicating injuries to the arms, hands, feet, and face, many of which have resulted in first- or second-degree burns. At least 156 incidents involving the hose overheating or the nozzle expelling hot water have been reported to Wagner.
The recalled Wagner 900 Series Power Steamers are characterized by a yellow and black pressurized boiler base, with the “Wagner” name visible on the sides. The model number may also be printed on the product’s exterior. These steamers typically feature a clear compartment for accessories, a handle, wheels, an eight-foot-long black steam hose, and a trigger-operated nozzle or gun for steam control. The affected units were sold between November 2018 and March 2026 at major retailers including The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart, Target, HSN, and QVC, as well as online through Amazon.com and the Wagner Spray Tech website. The retail price ranged from $130 to $200.
To address the safety concern, Wagner is providing consumers with a free repair kit that includes a hose sleeve, a nozzle cover, and a funnel. Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled steamers without delay and to reach out to Wagner for this repair solution. Those seeking further information or wishing to obtain the repair kit can contact Wagner toll-free at 800 962-6118, Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
