The main stage at University Plaza, sponsored by Renewal by Anderson, will feature a full day of musical performances. Scheduled to appear are the Mack Berry Band, Miss Maryland Teen Kinsley Potts, and the headlining act, The Reagan Years. Alongside the musical lineup, the National Mural Awards will be a significant visual component of Hagerfest, with artists creating large-scale murals throughout the downtown area. A community mural project, titled “Together We Create,” is also planned along the Cultural Trail at Meritus Park, receiving partial funding from the Washington County Arts Council.
Beyond the main attractions, Hagerfest will offer a variety of other activities designed to engage attendees. A Vendor Marketplace will be set up at University Plaza and Public Square, offering a chance to support local artisans and businesses. Poetry enthusiasts can enjoy a Poetry Slam & Open Mic session at Next Chapter Cafe. Attendees can also step back in time with tintype photography demonstrations at Eliza’s House and witness culinary artistry at the Latte Art Competition hosted by Cannon Coffee. Further entertainment options include a Graffiti Art Battle, a unique “Beer & Ballet” performance, and dance classes such as Bachata, all taking place at Hub City Brewery, which will also host additional live performances and pop-up events throughout the district.
The festivities are set to begin the day before the main event, with kick-off activities scheduled for Friday, May 1st. Public Square will host “Thunder in the Square,” organized by the Alsatia Club, starting at 5 p.m. Meanwhile, University Plaza will feature live music from The Cruisers at 6 p.m. The Hagerfest celebration will conclude with an afterparty at Hub City Brewery from 8 to 11 p.m., hosted by DJ Miles Morales. This afterparty is open to all and free of charge. Those interested in the full schedule and planning their day can visit the official Hagerfest website at https://mainstreethagerstown.org/hagerfest-schedule/. This event is presented as an opportunity for residents to immerse themselves in the creativity, culture, and community spirit of downtown Hagerstown.
