The “Speakeasy Night” promises a variety of activities designed to evoke the spirit of the era. Attendees are encouraged to embrace the theme by dressing in attire reminiscent of the 1920s, with suggestions including feathers and pearls. The event will feature casino-inspired games, a mini escape room, and a unique “human slot machine” for interactive entertainment. Adding to the ambiance, the Knock On Wood Marimba Band will provide live ragtime music throughout the evening. Guests will also have the opportunity to capture the moment with historical portraits taken using a genuine 1912 camera and explore displays showcasing local history from the Roaring Twenties period.
The primary purpose of this fundraising event is to generate support for the library’s vital services. Funds raised will directly contribute to maintaining free access to library resources for the community. Organizers emphasize that community support is particularly crucial at this time. Tickets for “Speakeasy Night” will become available for purchase on June 6th, 2026. Further details and updates regarding the event can be found on the library’s website, ahmfl.org.
