Ten artists or artist teams will be chosen to create individual mural sections on the concrete wall bordering the Hagerstown Cultural Trail, specifically between Antietam Street and Meritus Park. Each selected artist will be responsible for a panel approximately 20 feet wide by 3 feet tall. The project emphasizes individual artistic expression, with each section designed to stand independently. Upon successful completion of their mural segment, participating artists will receive a stipend of $500. Submissions are open to a wide range of participants, including individual artists, collaborative teams, educational art programs for schools and youth, community organizations, and cultural groups. A variety of artistic styles are welcomed, encompassing graffiti, realism, abstract, illustrative, and lettering, among others. More detailed information regarding the full Call for Artists and the specific requirements for submission can be found through the designated link. For any inquiries or further details, interested parties can contact Brittany Arizmendi at barizmendi@hagerstownmd.org or by phone at 240-500-4582. The City of Hagerstown’s Community Engagement Office, located at 1 E Franklin St, Suite 210A, can also be reached at 240-500-4582.
