Ten artists or artist teams will be chosen to contribute to the project. Each selected participant will be responsible for creating a mural section approximately 20 feet wide and 3 feet tall. These panels will be painted on the concrete wall located along the Hagerstown Cultural Trail, situated between Antietam Street and Meritus Park. The project is designed to feature individual artistic expressions, meaning each mural segment will stand independently rather than forming a single, cohesive image. Upon successful completion of their mural section, selected artists will receive a stipend of $500. The call for submissions is open to a wide range of artistic participants, including individual artists, established artist teams, school and youth art programs, community groups, and cultural organizations. The organizers encourage submissions in all artistic styles, such as graffiti, realism, abstract, illustrative, and lettering, to ensure a diverse and vibrant collection of works.

The deadline for artists to submit their applications is Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Full details regarding the “Call for Artists” and specific submission requirements are available for review. For those interested in applying or seeking further information, inquiries can be directed to Brittany Arizmendi via email at barizmendi@hagerstownmd.org or by phone at 240-500-4582. The City of Hagerstown’s Community Engagement Office, located at 1 E Franklin St, Suite 210A, can also be reached at 240-500-4582 for additional assistance. This project offers a unique opportunity for artists to gain visibility and contribute to the cultural landscape of Hagerstown.
