Gratton brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit management and arts administration to the WCAC. Previously, she served as the Executive Director of the Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro from 2018 to 2019. During her time there, Gratton was instrumental in increasing fundraising and grant revenue by 15% and developing new Arts and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programming in collaboration with local schools. She also owns Red Lips Mentor, LLC, a consulting firm that provides expertise in nonprofit management, marketing, and grant writing to municipalities and nonprofit organizations across the region. Gratton’s background also includes active participation in community organizations, having served on the boards of WRGG Radio, the Washington County Historical Society, and the Cumberland Valley School of Music. She is also a graduate of Leadership Franklin County and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, along with certification as a Small Business Mentor from the Small Business Administration.

Despite the leadership transition, the Washington County Arts Council is continuing its operations with a full schedule of exhibitions and upcoming events. Currently, visitors can experience the work of Judith Peck and George T. Owens, with both exhibitions running through December 2nd. Additionally, David Buckley’s featured art can be seen at the Washington County Chamber of Commerce until the end of October.

Looking ahead, the Arts Council is preparing for its Annual Community Art Show in December, and is currently accepting submissions from local artists. Those interested in participating in this community showcase are encouraged to contact Gallery Manager Chris Brewer for submission details. A significant enhancement to the organization’s digital presence is also anticipated with the upcoming launch of a new website, designed to offer an improved experience for artists, patrons, and the wider community. Further into the new year, the 16th Annual Art of Cooking event is scheduled for January 31, 2026. This signature fundraising event celebrates the connection between culinary and visual arts, and sponsorship opportunities are currently available.

The WCAC Board of Directors has expressed confidence in Gratton’s ability to lead the organization through this period. The Board plans to initiate a comprehensive search for a permanent Executive Director in the coming weeks, with details about the position and application process to be announced through the organization’s website and local media outlets. For further information regarding current exhibitions, upcoming events, or the Annual Community Art Show, interested parties can reach out to Gallery Manager Chris Brewer.
