Preliminary findings suggest that Hansen’s vehicle was traveling south on Maryland Route 97 when, for reasons still under investigation, it collided with Snyder’s truck. Maryland State Police closed the roadway for more than two hours while the crash team examined the scene. Their findings will be submitted to the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office, which will determine whether charges will be filed.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish the cause of the crash.
