The Maryland State Department of Education’s annual Maryland Public Schools Report Card, which evaluates schools based on academic and non-academic indicators, revealed that 56% of WCPS schools earned four- or five-star ratings, surpassing the statewide average of 41%. Additionally, 97% of WCPS schools received three or more stars, compared to 83% of schools statewide.

Notably, the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts and Old Forge Elementary School achieved five-star ratings, placing them among the top-performing 7% of schools in Maryland. These results reflect the district’s commitment to academic excellence and overall school performance during the 2023-2024 school year.
