KEEDYSVILLE, MD News (12/6/2024) – A structure fire at a two-story single-family residence on Keedysville Road in Keedysville, Maryland, resulted in an estimated $25,000 in damages on December 6, 2024. The fire, which originated in the ceiling of the second floor, was determined to be accidental and caused by an electrical wiring failure, according to investigators.

The incident was discovered by the homeowner’s son shortly before 1:00 a.m. The Sharpsburg Volunteer Fire Department responded with 38 firefighters to the scene, bringing the blaze under control within 25 minutes.
No injuries were reported, and no arrests were made in connection with the incident. The property damage is estimated at $20,000, with an additional $5,000 in content losses. No smoke alarms, fire alarms, or sprinkler systems were active at the time of the fire.
