Frederick, MD – A suspect has been arrested in connection with an attempted armed robbery that occurred on July 15, 2026, in the 1000 block of Carlton Place, according to a release from the Frederick Police Department. The incident involved a handgun, and the suspect was apprehended following a coordinated response by law enforcement.
Officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of an attempted armed robbery. Upon arrival, they observed a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed that matched the description provided by the victim. Master Police Officer Conor Walsleben orchestrated a traffic stop, during which both occupants of the vehicle were safely removed. A handgun, believed to be the weapon used in the attempted robbery, was discovered concealed beneath the driver’s seat. Further evidence related to the incident was also recovered from within the vehicle.
The driver, identified as KENWON LONTAE ADDISON JR., born April 2, 2007, was taken into custody. He has been transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and is being held without bond. Addison faces multiple charges, including Loaded Handgun on Person, Armed Robbery, Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree (Aggravated Assault), and Illegal Possession of Ammunition. The case number for this incident is 2026-044487.
