Residents of Hagerstown can anticipate a vibrant summer season filled with a variety of community events, from cultural celebrations and competitive sports to musical performances and family-friendly entertainment. The festivities kick off on Saturday, June 20, 2026, with a Juneteenth Celebration at Wheaton Park, hosted by the Doleman Black Heritage Museum. This all-day event, running from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., promises live music, youth and family activities, health and wellness initiatives, educational exhibits, cultural arts displays, and community resources, alongside food vendors. On the same day, downtown Hagerstown will be the scene for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Criterium Championships, organized by Antietam Velo. From 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., cycling enthusiasts can witness top athletes from across the region compete in 18 categories, ranging from Junior 10-12 to Masters 65+.

Looking ahead to the weekends, the City Farmers Market will be a recurring Sunday attraction. Held at Hub City Brewery, 25 W Church St, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on June 21, June 28, July 5, and July 12, the market will offer fresh produce and goods from local vendors. Sundays will also feature the Hagerstown Municipal Band, providing free live music at the City Park Bandshell. Concerts are scheduled for June 21 and July 12 at 7:00 p.m., with a special “Celebrate America 250” performance at North Hagerstown High School on July 5 at 7:00 p.m. that will include the Hagerstown Choral Arts.

The glamour and talent of the Miss Maryland pageants will take center stage at The Maryland Theatre. Preliminary competitions for both Miss Maryland and Miss Maryland Teen delegates are set for Wednesday and Thursday, June 24 and 25, 2026, with Miss Maryland preliminaries at 7:00 p.m. and Miss Maryland Teen preliminaries at 7:30 p.m. The crowning of Miss Maryland Teen will occur on Friday, June 26, at 7:30 p.m., followed by the crowning of Miss Maryland on Wednesday and Thursday, June 24 and 25, at 7:30 p.m.

In addition to the pageants, families can enjoy a free outdoor movie night in City Park on Friday, June 26. The showing of “National Treasure” at the City Park Bandshell will begin at 7:00 p.m., preceded by fun activities. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs, and concessions will be available. This event is hosted by Hagerstown Parks & Recreation.

July will bring further celebrations, including the Independence Day Fireworks display at Fairgrounds Park on Friday, July 3, at 9:30 p.m. This free event promises a spectacular visual display to mark the holiday, though no food or drink vendors will be present.

A significant historical event is planned for Thursday, July 9, with the Stars & Stripes Block Party and 1976 Time Capsule unveiling in downtown Hagerstown. From 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., South Potomac Street will host live music, historical and cultural vendors, and a special unveiling of a time capsule at 6:00 p.m., commemorating America’s semiquincentennial.

Midweek entertainment is also on the schedule with the MDWK Music & Market event at University Plaza on Wednesday, July 15, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This free event will feature live music from Halley’s Hot Gumbo Swingtet, playing New Orleans Hot Jazz and Swing, alongside a vendor market hosted by The Outsider Social. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for the concert.
