Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to Meritus Medical Center on the evening of May 14, 2026, in connection with a reported stabbing incident. The call came in around 8:14 PM, prompting an immediate law enforcement response to the medical facility located at 11116 Medical Campus Road in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies were able to identify a victim who was receiving medical attention for injuries sustained during the incident. Simultaneously, law enforcement officers located and apprehended the individual believed to be responsible for the stabbing. The suspect is currently in police custody as the investigation continues.

However, authorities have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community stemming from this particular event.
