Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC is initiating a voluntary safety recall impacting 178 of its 2023-2026 model year Land Rover Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles. According to information submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall addresses a potential defect in the adhesion of panoramic roof side finishers. The issue could lead to these components becoming loose over time, posing a distraction risk to drivers and other road users, and potentially causing harm or accidents if they detach completely.

The recall specifically affects 91 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles produced between June 9, 2022, and December 1, 2025, and 87 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured from August 11, 2022, to November 21, 2025. Both vehicle types were built at the Solihull Vehicle Assembly Plant. The root cause of the defect has been identified as an insufficient adhesion process used during quality rework operations within the assembly plant, which involved the removal and reinstallation of the panoramic roof side finishers. While no accidents, injuries, or fires have been reported in the United States as a result of this specific concern, Jaguar Land Rover has received 68 claims and field reports related to the issue between October 14, 2022, and December 20, 2025. The safety risk is described as the potential for distraction or, in the event of complete detachment, harm to other road users, particularly those on motorcycles or bicycles, and an increased risk of injury or crashes.
Jaguar Land Rover will notify dealers of the recall by March 5, 2026, and owners will receive notification letters on or before April 17, 2026. The remedy for the affected vehicles will involve removing the panoramic roof side finishers and securely reattaching them. This repair will be performed at no cost to the owners. While the replacement parts are identical to the original components, the adhesion process during the repair will be improved to ensure a permanent fix. The company has clarified that this condition specifically affects vehicles that underwent the described rework process and that vehicles not subjected to this rework are not impacted. The recall condition has been corrected in production for vehicles that did not require this specific rework. Owners can expect to search for their vehicle’s VIN on the NHTSA website to determine if it is included in the recall once VINs become searchable.
