Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC is initiating a voluntary safety recall affecting approximately 121,509 model year 2014 through 2017 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles. This recall, reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) under recall number 25V514, addresses a defect in the front suspension knuckle that could lead to a detachment of the upper suspension arm.

The recall encompasses 54,720 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles and 66,789 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured between October 1, 2014, and November 10, 2017. The issue stems from the front suspension upper knuckle joint, which may develop a crack over time. In severe cases, this crack could result in the separation of the upper suspension arm. Such a failure, particularly during an extreme avoidance maneuver, could compromise the vehicle’s controllability, increasing the risk of a crash. The problematic components were sourced from SuperAlloy Industrial Co. Ltd. in Taiwan.

Jaguar Land Rover has indicated that while there is no evidence of accidents, injuries, or fires in the United States resulting from this specific concern, the company has received a total of 96 claims and field reports for Range Rover vehicles in the U.S. between September 17, 2015, and July 23, 2025. For Range Rover Sport vehicles in the U.S., 14 claims and field reports were received between July 16, 2021, and July 18, 2025. The company’s internal reviews and discussions with Transport Canada and NHTSA led to the determination that a safety recall was necessary. The defect was identified as potentially impacting vehicles assembled at the Solihull Vehicle Assembly Plant during the specified production period.

Owners of affected vehicles are advised not to drive their vehicles and to park them outside if possible, pending the repair. Jaguar Land Rover will notify dealerships by August 19, 2025, and owners will receive notification letters by September 30, 2025. The remedy involves a two-part process: technicians will first inspect both front suspension knuckles for cracks. If no cracks are found and a retaining bracket is available, it will be fitted to the joint. If cracks are present or a bracket is not available, the entire front suspension knuckle will be replaced. The updated knuckle component for the 2018 model year vehicles is designed to manage operational stresses differently than the recalled component. This recall supersedes a previous campaign, NHTSA recall 24V-840, with all vehicles previously included in that recall being transferred to this new campaign. The repair will be performed at no cost to the owners.
