The incident under investigation took place on September 27, 2025, when deputies were called to the 5500 block of Foxhall Court following a report of an armed robbery. During their initial response, law enforcement learned that the victim had been struck in the face with a handgun during the commission of the crime. Through subsequent investigative efforts, FCSO detectives were able to identify two individuals they believed to be responsible. Arrest warrants were then obtained for their apprehension.
On January 6, 2026, the apprehension of the suspects was carried out. FCSO detectives, working in coordination with the United States Marshals Office Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) and the Frederick Police Department, executed the arrest warrants. Albert Osmany Cambara and Gerardo Isaac Cervantes, both 17-year-old residents of Frederick, were taken into custody. They were subsequently transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

Following their arrests, detectives proceeded to execute search warrants at residences associated with the suspects, located in the 100 block of Wild Fig Court and the 300 block of Manor Court. A search of Gerardo Isaac Cervantes’ residence yielded the recovery of a Glock handgun. This firearm was reportedly loaded and equipped with an extended magazine.
Both individuals have been charged as adults through the issuance of arrest warrants. The charges filed against them include armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and two counts each of first-degree assault and second-degree assault. They also face charges for using a firearm in the commission of a felony or crime of violence.
In addition to the aforementioned charges, Gerardo Isaac Cervantes faces a further charge as an adult: illegal possession of a regulated firearm. This additional charge stems from evidence recovered during the search of his residence.
