Following the initial report, a collaborative search effort was launched involving the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) and the Frederick Police Department (FPD). Officers located an individual matching the suspect’s description in the vicinity of Center Street and Washington Street. The man attempted to evade apprehension on foot but was taken into custody without further incident. Subsequent investigation revealed that the suspect did not possess a firearm during the incident. The apprehended individual has been identified as Jerry Garrett Piercy, a 65-year-old resident of Frederick. Piercy was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and faces charges including armed robbery, robbery, and theft of property valued between $100 and $1,500.
