Throughout the day, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the four museums located within City Park, each offering free tours and special activities between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. These museums include the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, the Mansion House Art Center & Gallery, the City Park Train Hub, and the Jonathan Hager House and Museum. New this year, a double-decker bus, sponsored by Flight Fiber by Antietam Broadband, will provide transportation between the museums starting at noon, allowing for easier access to these historical and cultural sites.
The event will also feature the 10th annual South End Community Block Party, organized by Bester Community of Hope, which will take place between the band shell and concession stand from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This section of the park will come alive with live music from The Chuck Brown Band, community resource vendors, character meet-and-greets, and engaging games, including laser tag. This community-focused initiative aims to bring residents together for an afternoon of entertainment and connection.
As the afternoon progresses, attendees are invited to gather near the Museum Drive lake area starting at 4 p.m. Here, a variety of food and craft vendors will be available, offering diverse culinary options and unique items for purchase. Wandering entertainment and music will precede the highly anticipated fireworks display, which is scheduled to illuminate the sky over the lake at 7:45 p.m. Residents are encouraged to make their way to this area to enjoy the pre-fireworks festivities.
For those attending the event, parking will be available at the softball fields and in two large lots located at the rear of City Park. To manage traffic flow and ensure a smooth experience for all, the park will operate on a one-way traffic system. Entry will be permitted via Park Drive, with exiting directed onto Key Street. City Park is located at 501 Virginia Avenue. Further details regarding the complete schedule of activities, a list of participating vendors, and information about nonprofit organizations involved can be found on the City of Hagerstown’s official website at http://www.hagerstownmd.org/fallfest or by visiting the Facebook event page. Updates and information on future events can also be accessed through the Hagerstown Parks and Recreation Facebook page.
