We need your help to stay paywall free

We know you value local news and entertainment that is free, open, and independent. Producing high-quality, paywall-free content isn't free. It takes time, effort, and resources to keep you informed and entertained. Unlike corporate media, we don’t have deep-pocketed investors or big advertisers funding our work—we rely on you, our readers and listeners, to keep Radio Free Hub City running. We're literally running on a shoe-string budget, but keep working hard to provide as much news and entertainment as we can.

If just 5% of local area residents became paid supporters at only $5 per month, we could meet our fundraising goals and continue expanding our news coverage depth while continuing to provide free access for everyone. So, if you'd like to help us in our continuing quest to improve our coverage, please consider becoming a paying supporter.

Will you be one of the 5%?

Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities for all ages. Kids can take part in pony rides sponsored by Ameriserv, enjoy a petting zoo, have their faces painted, and experience balloon bending and Tommy 202 wagon rides. For those interested in crafts, art exhibits, and living history displays, the festival has much to offer. Additionally, there will be more than a dozen food vendors and nearly 30 craft vendors on site, presenting a range of items for purchase.

City Park’s four prominent museums—the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, the Mansion House Art Center & Gallery (home to the Valley Art Association), the City Park Train Hub, and the Jonathan Hager House and Museum—will be open all day, offering free tours and special activities.

An exciting addition to the festival is the 9th annual South End Community Block Party, organized by the Bester Community of Hope. The block party will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. between the band shell and concession stand, featuring live music by the band Cruel Summer, community resource vendors, character meet-and-greets, and games like laser tag and archery tag.

As the day winds down, attendees are encouraged to make their way to the Museum Drive lake area beginning at 4 p.m., where food and craft vendors will be set up. There will be live music and wandering performers throughout the evening, leading up to the much-anticipated fireworks display over the lake at 7:45 p.m.

For those planning to attend, parking will be available at the softball fields and in the two large lots at the back of the park. Visitors are advised to follow parking signs upon entering from Park Drive. City Park is located at 501 Virginia Avenue in Hagerstown.
