Washington County is offering residents an opportunity to memorialize and honor emergency services personnel through its 2025 Brick Campaign, as announced by the Washington County Office of Emergency Management. This initiative allows individuals to purchase personalized bricks that will become a permanent part of the Emergency Services Memorial Walk of Honor, situated within Hagerstown City Park. This program provides a significant way for the community to pay tribute and leave a lasting mark of appreciation in a designated area for remembrance and honor.

The campaign allows for one dedication per purchased brick, and a completed form is necessary for each transaction. The deadline for ordering these commemorative bricks is July 1, 2026. The culmination of the campaign will be the unveiling of the newly placed bricks during the Remembrance in the Park Ceremony, scheduled for September 8, 2026. This annual ceremony provides a poignant occasion to publicly acknowledge and celebrate the dedication of emergency responders.
Funds generated from the brick purchases are designated for the maintenance and upkeep of the Emergency Services Memorial Walk of Honor. This ensures that the memorial remains a well-preserved and dignified space for years to come. Previous expenditures for upkeep have included the replacement of plaques within the memorial area, demonstrating a commitment to its ongoing care. To date, 265 bricks have been purchased as part of this ongoing effort.
