While the initial scene was being assessed, a report of a second victim emerged, locating them at the new Meritus School building on Health Drive. Emergency medical services were dispatched to this secondary location as well. Concerns were raised about the potential for an active gunman, although law enforcement indicated that the scene at Schulas was secure, the situation at the Meritus School building remained unconfirmed regarding immediate safety. Units were directed to establish a staging area at Mount Aetna and Yale for the Health Drive response.

Further details provided by Washington County units indicated that one victim, a 29-year-old male, had arrived at Meritus with a single gunshot wound to the lower left leg. Simultaneously, another victim was reported to have arrived at the emergency room in a private vehicle, having suffered an abdominal gunshot wound. This information was reportedly confirmed with the victim’s cousin and law enforcement. The Sheriff’s Department was tasked with checking the building at the second location to ensure no other victims were present. Ultimately, all victims were accounted for and transported to Meritus. The scene was subsequently declared clear, allowing all responding units to return to service by approximately 2:40 AM.
