The vehicle, a white Chevrolet Malibu, was subsequently stopped after officers noted several traffic violations. A K-9 unit was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle. Following the K-9’s alert, the driver, identified as Malkin Kevin Martin, 21, was taken into custody. A search of his person and the vehicle revealed suspected crack cocaine and a loaded Polymer 80, Glock-style 9mm handgun. The handgun was reportedly equipped with a Glock Conversion Device, which can enable full-automatic firing. Martin was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and faces charges including possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) not including marijuana, possession of a loaded handgun in a vehicle, possession of a handgun in a vehicle, and possession of a firearm without a serial number.
