The ICE officers sustained injuries during the confrontation, including exposure to pepper spray deployed by the attackers and a jammed finger. During the incident, one individual, identified as Adrian Guerrero, a U.S. citizen, allegedly slashed the tire of a government vehicle and made direct threats of violence against a law enforcement officer. Court filings detail Guerrero’s alleged statements, including threats to harm the officer and their family. Guerrero was reportedly found in possession of a knife, a patterned headscarf, and goggles that were visible during the attack at the time of his arrest.
DHS has announced that Guerrero has been charged with assaults and destruction of federal property. The agency has stated that such acts of violence against law enforcement are unacceptable and will not deter their operations. The U.S. Federal Protective Service and the San Francisco Police Department responded to the scene to assist in clearing the area. DHS encourages individuals interested in federal law enforcement careers with ICE to apply through their recruitment website.
