In response to a terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced an overhaul of its Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) tip line, aimed at enhancing efforts to identify and remove criminal illegal aliens. The move, directed by President Trump and Secretary Kristi Noem, is intended to provide more resources and personnel to the existing 24-hour tip line that allows the public and law enforcement agencies to report suspected criminal activity by illegal aliens.

The attack occurred on June 1 at Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall, where Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a 45-year-old resident of El Paso County, allegedly used a makeshift flame thrower and an incendiary device against a peaceful gathering. Witnesses reported hearing the suspect shout “Free Palestine” during the incident. Eight individuals—four men and four women aged 52 to 88—were hospitalized following the attack. Boulder police, with support from the FBI, arrested Soliman within minutes. Authorities are treating the incident as a targeted act of terrorism.
DHS officials linked the attack to broader concerns over illegal immigration, noting that the suspect is allegedly in the country illegally. The revamped tip line, reachable at 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423), will be staffed by specialists trained to process reports on more than 400 laws enforced by ICE. The Department emphasized the importance of public participation in reporting suspicious activity to help expedite the identification and removal of criminal illegal aliens. The FBI continues to investigate the attack alongside local law enforcement and is collecting digital evidence from the public.
