Leesburg Gears Up for Annual Dog Swim Event

Leesburg residents and their canine companions can look forward to a unique recreational opportunity with the upcoming annual Dog Swim, as announced by the Town of Leesburg, Virginia. Registration is now open for this popular event, which offers dogs an exclusive chance to enjoy the waters of the AV Symington Aquatic Center. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 12, with two separate sessions available to accommodate attendees: from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and again from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This special event provides a controlled and safe environment for dogs to play off-leash in the pool alongside other dogs. To ensure the well-being and safety of all participants, strict requirements are in place. All dogs must be at least six months old, possess a legal license, and be up-to-date on their vaccinations, clearly indicated by a visible dog license. The aquatic center will have gated exits to keep the dogs contained, and a veterinarian will be present on-site as a precautionary measure. Attendees are advised to bring a water dish for their pets.

Due to limited capacity, pre-registration is mandatory for participation, with a limit of two dogs per person. The registration fee for the event is $5.00 per person. It is important to note that walk-up registrations will not be accepted. Participants must be at least 12 years of age to attend, and dog handlers must be 16 years or older.
