The Task Force initiated the investigation earlier in May after receiving intelligence that the apartments were being used for the distribution of controlled dangerous substances. Authorities observed behavior consistent with drug trafficking, including one individual suspected of regularly carrying a handgun. The operation involved the Washington County Special Response Team, Hagerstown Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit, drone operations, Maryland State Police, and the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.

During the execution of the warrant, agents recovered fentanyl, cocaine, drug paraphernalia, U.S. currency, and a Glock handgun later identified as stolen from Virginia Beach. The firearm was reportedly thrown from a window during the raid. The operation concluded with the arrest of individuals ranging in age from 18 to 31, many of whom face felony drug and firearm charges.
