A Virginia man is facing multiple serious charges after being arrested in connection with a road rage shooting incident in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Authorities say the man allegedly fired a handgun at another vehicle on Route 5, leading to his apprehension and the discovery of firearms and narcotics in his possession.

Marco Williams, 46, of Alexandria, Virginia, was taken into custody in Fairfax County by a joint effort involving the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Maryland State Apprehension Team. He is charged with attempted first-degree murder, felony assault, and firearms-related offenses. Williams is currently being held while awaiting extradition to Maryland.
The reported incident occurred on April 3, 2025, when Maryland State Troopers responded to a shooting near Burch Hill Road. The victim, whose identity has not been released, told police that the driver of a black 2023 Ford Explorer with Michigan license plates fired a weapon at his vehicle. The victim was not injured.

Subsequent searches of Williams’ residence and a vehicle linked to him yielded two loaded firearms and a significant quantity of narcotics, according to law enforcement. The searches were conducted with assistance from the Fairfax County Police Department and the Virginia State Police.
Authorities continue to investigate the case and are also seeking public assistance in separate ongoing investigations related to highway gun violence, including the unresolved deaths of Delonte Hicks, Charles Marks, and Nyah Hairston. The Maryland State Police urge anyone with information to contact investigators, with the option to remain anonymous.
