The fire broke out around 11:09 p.m. on April 9 and was first detected by an automatic alarm system, which notified emergency services. Upon arrival, the Easton Volunteer Fire Department chief upgraded the call to a working fire, initiating a two-alarm response. A total of 47 firefighters were dispatched to the scene and worked for approximately two hours to bring the fire under control.
The fire originated on a large porch area of the home. Despite the presence of functioning smoke detectors and a residential alarm system, the fire caused $1 million in damage to the structure itself and an additional $500,000 to its contents. The home is owned by Bradford and Theresa Kline.
