The Washington County Board of Education (WCBOE) has approved the Superintendent’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2026, totaling $365,190,798. The budget, which was developed following multiple public work sessions, will continue to be reviewed, with potential adjustments based on public input and changes in state funding. Additionally, the Board approved a new three-year contract with American Medical Staffing to provide school nursing services at health rooms throughout Washington County Public Schools (WCPS). The contract, valued at nearly $16 million, will begin on July 1, 2025. In other actions, the Board approved the 2025-2026 Middle School Program of Studies, which outlines available courses for students. Funding was also approved for a roof replacement at North Hagerstown High School, with the project set to be completed before students return in August.
