We know you value local news and entertainment that is free, open, and independent. Producing high-quality, paywall-free content isn't free. It takes time, effort, and resources to keep you informed and entertained. Unlike corporate media, we don’t have deep-pocketed investors or big advertisers funding our work—we rely on you, our readers and listeners, to keep Radio Free Hub City running. We're literally running on a shoe-string budget, but keep working hard to provide as much news and entertainment as we can.
If just 5% of local area residents became paid supporters at only $5 per month, we could meet our fundraising goals and continue expanding our news coverage depth while continuing to provide free access for everyone. So, if you'd like to help us in our continuing quest to improve our coverage, please consider becoming a paying supporter.
Will you be one of the 5%?

The training will be offered on March 8, June 14, September 27, and November 8, 2025. Each session runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 18350 Public Safety Place, Hagerstown, MD. Participants who wish to receive CPR recertification can opt for an official certification with a $25 donation. Otherwise, the training is completely free, and drop-ins are encouraged. The sessions last approximately two hours, providing a practical and efficient way for community members to gain emergency response skills.
Boonsboro Emergency Medical Services, an independent non-profit organization, has been serving the Washington County area since separating from the fire department in 1982. Originally established as an ambulance service in 1954, the organization has grown to meet the evolving needs of the community, responding to over 1,200 calls in 2016. The service area includes historic towns, expanding residential developments, and large state prison institutions, making emergency preparedness training a valuable resource for local residents.
