Authorities identified the suspect, 35-year-old Salamah Bassem Audi, following threats made against Gateway Experience Church in Williamsport and The City of God in Hagerstown. These threats, which were posted on an online blog, included alarming language aimed at the churches and their pastors. During the investigation, officials uncovered an additional threat in which the suspect allegedly wrote about plans to harm a pastor while they were heading to their car.
Through the support of the Maryland Coordination and Analysis Center (MCAC), investigators traced the online activity to Audi. Following the issuance of a warrant, the Hagerstown Police Department assisted in her arrest. Audi now faces charges including two counts of arson threat and one count of mass violence threat. She was booked at the Washington County Detention Center and after appearing before a judge, is currently being held without bond.
