The incident occurred around 9:01 p.m. at 7934 Old National Pike and was responded to by the Boonsboro Volunteer Fire Department. Forty-four firefighters worked to bring the fire under control in about an hour. Smoke alarms in the residence activated, but the property was not equipped with sprinklers.
