The fire, which was discovered by the homeowner, Brian Taylor, caused approximately $90,000 in structural damage and an additional $10,000 in losses to the home’s contents. Despite the severity of the fire, no injuries or fatalities were reported.

The First Hose Company of Boonsboro was the primary responding department, dispatching 45 firefighters who worked to contain the blaze within 45 minutes. The home was not equipped with a smoke alarm, fire alarm, or sprinkler system, which may have delayed early detection and intervention.

In the aftermath, the American Red Cross has stepped in to assist the homeowner with temporary living arrangements.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, a branch of the Department of State Police, is conducting an investigation to confirm the preliminary findings.
