HAGERSTOWN, MD News (12/16/2024) – A fatal pedestrian collision occurred on December 13, 2024, on Pennsylvania Avenue in Hagerstown, Maryland. At approximately 8:12 PM, deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area between Maugans Avenue and North Pointe Drive after receiving reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered a 37-year-old male, identified as Jonathan Andres Crus of Hagerstown, deceased at the scene. The vehicle involved in the incident had left the area prior to the deputies’ arrival. The roadway was closed for about two and a half hours as the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team conducted an investigation.
Both the vehicle and its driver have since been identified. The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details have been released at this time.
