HAGERSTOWN, MD News (12/5/2024) – A structure fire broke out on December 3, 2024, at a two-story single-family home on Patrick Road. Firefighters from the Longmeadow Volunteer Fire Company responded to the incident, which was reported at 12:45 p.m.

The homeowner discovered the fire, which originated in the basement laundry room. Smoke alarms in the residence activated, alerting occupants, though no injuries were reported. Twenty-five firefighters responded to the scene, extinguishing the fire within 10 minutes.
The fire caused an estimated $9,000 in structural damage and $1,000 in content losses. The preliminary cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The residents were not displaced as a result of the incident. No arrests were made, and no sprinkler system was present in the home.
