The homeowner discovered the fire, which originated in the basement laundry room. Smoke alarms in the residence activated, alerting occupants, though no injuries were reported. Twenty-five firefighters responded to the scene, extinguishing the fire within 10 minutes.

The fire caused an estimated $9,000 in structural damage and $1,000 in content losses. The preliminary cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The residents were not displaced as a result of the incident. No arrests were made, and no sprinkler system was present in the home.
