HAGERSTOWN, MD News (9/17/2024) – On Monday evening, September 16, 2024, officers from the Hagerstown Police Department (HPD) responded to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of 34 North Cannon Avenue near the CVS Pharmacy at approximately 7:09 P.M. Upon arrival, officers engaged in foot pursuits of three suspects.

Two of the suspects, identified as Micah Curtis, 18, and Davon Alfonzo Griffin, 18, both of Hagerstown, were apprehended near South Mulberry Street. During the pursuit, officers recovered two handguns discarded by the suspects. The third suspect, Franck Diffo-Simmo, 18, also of Hagerstown, was taken into custody early Tuesday morning, following the execution of a search warrant at 14 South Mulberry Street.
Investigators have determined that two victims were involved in the incident, and their vehicle was struck by gunfire. No injuries have been reported at this time.

Curtis, Griffin, and Diffo-Simmo have been charged with attempted murder and multiple firearm violations. The suspects are currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center, where they await their initial court appearance.
The Hagerstown Police Department acknowledged the support provided by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Washington County Special Response Team in the investigation. The investigation remains active, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Detective Weaver at the HPD Criminal Investigative Unit. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
