The Longmeadow Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene, with a total of 32 firefighters from various units arriving to contain the blaze. The fire was controlled within 10 minutes, preventing further damage to the surrounding area. The fire department confirmed that the fire originated in a basement bedroom due to an accidental electrical failure. The failure was linked to an extension cord connected to a security camera.
Although the fire was quickly brought under control, the property sustained approximately $5,000 in damage to the structure and an additional $5,000 in damage to its contents. There were no smoke alarms present in the residence.
