Surveillance footage captured the incident, showing the occupants of a white Dodge Journey discharging several rounds. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or property damage resulting from the gunfire.
According to the Hagerstown Police Department Facebook page, law enforcement officers utilized city surveillance cameras to track the vehicle, which was seen in the unit block of North Mulberry Street minutes before the shooting. The vehicle in question has West Virginia license plates, and authorities are actively working to identify the individuals involved.
Editor’s note: Hagerstown Police Department has since removed the photo which was originally posted, but no explanation was provided why the photo was removed. Since no explanation has been provided, RFHC has decided to publish this photo as well as screenshots of the original post for full transparency.

After removal of the photos, the post was replaced with a much shorter post providing fewer details, completely omitting information about the Dodge Journey: “Yesterday on 8/14/24, HPD took a report regarding a shooting that occurred in the 200 block of Frederick St in the early morning hours of 8/13/24. The incident was caught on home surveillance video and shows occupants in a vehicle fired several rounds. There have been no reports of anything or anyone being struck. If you have any information about this incident please contact Ofc. Plummer at cplummer@hagerstownpd.org. This is an active investigation”
The Hagerstown Police Department has urged anyone with information about the vehicle, its occupants, or the incident to come forward. Witnesses or those with relevant information are encouraged to contact Officer Plummer via email at cplummer@hagerstownpd.org.
