SHARPSBURG, MD News (8/15/2024) – A vehicle fire was reported early this morning at 1436 Back Road, Sharpsburg, Maryland. The incident involved a white Ford Focus of an unknown year. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The fire was discovered by a passerby who promptly alerted the authorities. The Potomac Valley Fire Company responded to the call with a team of three firefighters. Upon arrival, the firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within five minutes. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities reported as a result of this incident.
The estimated loss due to the fire is approximately $5,000, limited to the vehicle itself. The fire appears to have originated from the interior of the vehicle.

The owner and occupants of the vehicle are currently under investigation. The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.
