HAGERSTOWN, MD News (7/31/2023) – On July 30, 2023, Hagerstown Police Department responded to 1028 Brinker Drive following reports of a double shooting. The incident occurred at approximately 3:08 pm, leaving one person dead and another seriously injured.
The authorities have identified the deceased victim as a 24-year-old male who succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound at the scene. The second victim, a 31-year-old female, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was swiftly taken to Meritus Medical Center for emergency medical treatment.
According to initial investigations, it is believed that the victims were acquainted with the suspect, and this tragic event is considered an isolated incident. The police have not released any information about the possible motives or the relationship between the victims and the suspect.
As of now, the identities of the victims are being withheld pending notification of their respective families. Authorities are urging anyone who may have information regarding the incident to come forward and contact Detective Vogel at 301-790-3700 x241. The investigation is still active, and every lead is vital to apprehending the suspect and shedding light on the circumstances surrounding this disturbing event.
