County Cyber Incident Update – More Services Now Available

HAGERSTOWN, MD News (12/2/2022) – Washington County is seeing progress in restoring County systems after the cybersecurity incident that occurred on Thursday, November 24, 2022. Washington County incident response efforts remain in full effect and significant progress has been made. Washington County’s top priority continues to be ensuring community members are safe and can access County government services they rely upon. Due to the ongoing nature of our investigation, they cannot provide additional details about the cybersecurity incident at this time. The focus will continue to be getting the County systems and services up and running as safely and quickly as possible.

Washington County provides the following updates:

  • Additional web pages are being added to the temporary Washington County website daily. The web pages provide County citizens with information on how different divisions and departments are operating and providing services.
  • Vendors now have the ability to view and download open bids by visiting the Purchasing Department’s temporary webpage.
  • The main number at the Office of the State’s Attorney is down. To reach their office, please call 240-313-2024.
  • Citizens can now view and apply for Washington County Government job openings. Click here to view open jobs.
  • The Division of Permits and Inspections is unable to access permit records, process permit applications, and/or issue permits. Paper applications are available at 747 Northern Avenue Hagerstown, MD 21742. Online and IVR inspection requests are also unavailable. Call the office at 240-313-2460 to request an inspection.
