HAGERSTOWN, MD News (November 27, 2022) – On November 24, 2022, Washington County became aware of a cybersecurity incident, resulting in disruption to certain computer systems, the County’s website, and certain County services. They continue working to restore County services that were impacted by the cybersecurity incident as quickly and safely as possible. Washington County’s top priority is ensuring our community members are safe and can access County government services they rely upon.
Washington County provides the following updates:
- County phone service is unaffected and remains functional.
- Emergency 911 calls remain functioning.
- Certain County services will be unavailable at this time, including processing and/or issuance of permits and acceptance of financial payments, including taxes and water and/or sewer payments. Citizens should call the respective Department before coming into County offices to see if their issue will be able to be addressed.
- The County appreciates your patience as we continue to work through these difficult times.
