The Hagerstown Police Department has identified two individuals wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 5, 2026. The investigation, supported in part by the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN), has led to charges of First-Degree Murder and related offenses against the suspects. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Dalonte Dametrius Young of Hagerstown.
The incident initially came to light when Hagerstown Police officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the first block of East Antietam Street at approximately 3:30 a.m. Upon their arrival, authorities discovered an adult male who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Hagerstown Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit has been leading the ongoing homicide investigation.

The two individuals identified and sought by law enforcement are Michael Timothy Wilder, 38, and Cierra Candice Bryant, 39, both residents of Hagerstown. Both suspects have been charged with First-Degree Murder and other associated offenses. The investigation remains active, and no further details are being released at this time to avoid compromising the ongoing efforts.
The Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN), which provided partial funding for this investigation, operates under the Governor’s Office Crime Prevention and Policy Program. MCIN’s mission is to combat violent criminal networks and gangs by focusing on disrupting their operations related to drug distribution, violent crimes involving firearms, human trafficking, and other serious criminal enterprises. This is achieved through a combination of enforcement, prevention, intervention strategies, and the sharing of crucial information. MCIN aims to reduce violent crime by fostering partnerships enhanced by information technology, which ultimately leads to more effective investigations and prosecutions of violent offenders and their networks.

Authorities have indicated that additional information will be released as it becomes available and when it will not jeopardize the progress of the investigation.
