A fire at a Hagerstown residence on June 14, 2026, resulted in minor structural damage and one injury, according to an investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The incident occurred at approximately 8:17 p.m. at 310 S. Cannon Avenue in a one-to-two-family duplex.

The Hagerstown Fire Department responded to the scene, with 49 firefighters tackling the blaze. The fire was brought under control within five minutes of their arrival. Preliminary findings indicate the fire’s origin was in the basement of the property. The cause has been preliminarily determined to be accidental.
While the structure sustained an estimated $200 in damages, there were no displaced residents. The home was equipped with a smoke alarm, which activated during the incident. No fire alarm or sprinkler systems were present at the property. No arrests were made in connection with the fire.
