The Hagerstown Fire Department responded to the scene of the one-alarm incident, with 48 firefighters working to bring the blaze under control. The fire was reportedly contained within 15 minutes of the department’s arrival. Preliminary assessments indicate that the fire originated in the living room of the residence. While smoke alarms were present and activated, fire alarm or sprinkler systems were not noted as being present or activated at the property.
The estimated financial loss from the fire is significant, with damages to the structure estimated totaling $25,000. An additional $10,000 in losses are attributed to the contents of the home. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or fatalities as a result of the incident. No arrests have been made in connection with the fire at this time, and the preliminary cause remains under investigation.
